Vantage Specialty Chemicals acquires DWJ

Vantage Specialty Chemicals, a US-based cosmetics ingredients manufacturer, has acquired Desert Whale Jojoba Company(DWJ), a US-based grower, producer and processor of jojoba and jojoba-based derivatives, oils and speciality ingredients.

The acquisition includes Desert Whale’s farms where jojoba is grown and harvested by it.

According to the firm, Vantage Specialty Chemicals and DWJ have a joint vision to provide functional, natural products with proven efficacy to the market.

The firm said the new acquisition will enable DWJ to offer customers better service and supply with additional resources in R&D, marketing, formulation, regulatory and supply chain.

With the new acquisition, Desert Whale co-founder and president Soraya Rohde to join the Vantage Personal Care team to manage the jojoba and natural derivatives business.

Vantage said the new acquisition will complement its global personal care business under the Lipo brand, and strengthen its offering of natural, Ecocert and organic solutions to marketers of formulated skin and hair care products.

Desert Whale, founded in 1978, headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, is a manufacturer which takes care of all aspects of production (from farms to formulations) and is a leading grower and producer of jojoba-derived ingredients for personal care and colour cosmetic applications.

The firm’s products are commonly used as emollients in skin care products, colour cosmetics, cleansers, hair care and sun care products formulations.
