United Laboratories develops new toothbrush using LED and ultrasonic technology

Consumer products maker United Laboratories and Manufacturing has developed a new Pro-Medic Professional VIS-IR Ultrasonic Rechargeable Toothbrush, which uses both infrared LED and ultrasonic technology to help remove plaque, reduce bleeding gums and address gingivitis.

The US-based firm claims that the new toothbrush is the world’s first oral care product to combine both visible and LED therapy together with massaging ultrasonic technology along with pulsing ultrasonic frequency to provide multiplicative effects to oral care.

According to the firm, the toothbrush was developed using patented acousto-optic technology coupled with patented dual sonic frequency technology to provide daily benefits of visible and infrared light therapy together with ultrasonic massage at home in one affordable rechargeable toothbrush.

The firm said that NASA and the US Military have conducted a variety of long-term studies on the visible and infrared light therapy to understand its overall wound healing benefits and antibacterial and cell rejuvenating effects, which can be used in a range of clinical developments.

United Laboratories said the toothbrush is infused with technology that includes visible and infrared light-emitting diodes (LEDs) pulsing at 4 MHz ultrasonic frequency, which is effective in helping reduce bleeding gums and gingivitis.

The toothbrush’s manual brushing option is suitable for individuals with sensitive teeth or gums, which releases only light and ultrasound therapy.

It may offer users deeper tooth whitening without harsh chemicals, currently used by most of the routine oral care product manufacturers.

ULMC- Pro-Medic technology division president and inventor Dr. Henryk Malak said with good preventive care dental problems, from bleeding gums to gingivitis to even tooth loss are largely avoidable.
