Syneron introduces proprietary Sublative Technology for acne scars

US-based aesthetic device manufacturer Syneron Medical has introduced its proprietary Sublative technology for the removal or alteration of the appearance of acne scars.

According to the company, acne is the most common skin disorder in the US, affecting around 40 to 50 million Americans.

Over 40% of adolescents by mid-teens are affected by acne or acne scarring, which needs treatment by a dermatologist.

The firm claims that the new technology is the only bi-polar fractional radiofrequency (RF) energy device proven to treat acne scars efficaciously.

The company said the new acne scar treatment can be used with all its Sublative compatible systems, which includes elos Plus, eTwo and eMatrix.

Syneron said the product’s unique design helps to flow the energy beneath the surface of the skin, which aims to maximise collagen production while preserving the top layer of the skin intact.

Gold Skin Care Center medical director and board certified dermatologist Michael Gold said the firm is pleased to adopt the Sublative technology and is looking to serve acne scar patients.

Syneron, along with the new acne scar treatment, will introduce ‘Skinhibitions’ – a new focused consumer marketing campaign based on market research the company completed recently.

The study has revealed that although majority of women were interested in more effective skin procedures, they were inhibited by fear of pain, significant downtime, side effects and expensive treatments.

Syneron commissioned online survey showed that 22% of adults aged 18 years and older felt acne scars to be an issue that they would like to address.

About 77% of the respondents, who have acne scars, said that though they would like to opt for a treatment, they were worried about high costs, pain, downtime and lack of results.
