South African student invents shower gel for ‘water-less’ bath

South Africa-based University of Cape Town student Ludwick Marishane has invented a new shower gel called ‘DryBath’ to help users to shower minus the soap and water.

With inspiration from a friend too lazy to shower and few months of research on the internet helped Headboy Industries owner Ludwick Marishane invent the clear gel that does the work of water and soap when applied to the skin.

Patented and trademarked shower gel, DryBath, offered in small, easy-to-open sachets claims to kill germs, moisturise the skin and at the same time exude a pleasant, light smell, and differs from the regular anti-bactieral hand washes and hand sanitizers.

The new shower gel now is manufactured commercially with clients including major global airlines.

Marishane said that the new product will help conserve water in the poorest parts of the world.

DryBath is said to be sold in individual sachets as Marishane learned from his mentors that poor people across the globe purchase things in small quantities.

Each packet of DryBath is sold for 50cents in poor communities; while for corporate customers such as airlines, hotels, it is offered for $1.50; and one packet is donated to charity for every corporate packet sold.
