SOHM India partners with Ranbaxy for dermatology products

Subsidiary of SOHM, an American generic pharmaceutical manufacturer, developer and marketer, SOHM India said that it has entered into a principal-to-principal manufacturing agreement with Indian pharmaceutical firm Ranbaxy for marketing ‘Speelac Face Wash Gel.’

Speelac Face Wash Gel is a new dermatology product created to treat acne and help reduce acne flare-up more quickly, the company said.

SOHM India said that the strategic acquisition of Novatrend Medicament and its core competencies in dermatology made this new marketing partnership possible.

The company said that it also has been able to retain its IPR, and added that its innovative focus is reinforced by the addition of a Foam preparation in its Salic-2 Face Wash product mix to help manage acne vulgaris.

SOHM CEO and President Shailesh Shah said that the new partnership is the first step from building generics to branded generics to major R & D focus.

"The company motto of developing alternatives for unmet needs is increasingly getting reinforced with wider network product innovation in the pipeline," added Shah.
