Momentive Performance Materials to introduce two silicone formulations

Momentive Performance Materials said it will introduce two ready-to-use, multi-functional silicone formulations.

The ingredients blend in Velvesil Mul-T gel and Silsoft E-Pearl PF emulsion may facilitate formulators to reduce time and effort involved with working with a number of individual ingredients, said the company.

Both paraben free formulators can provide highly benefits for a range of skincare applications.

Momentive Performance Materials Personal Care global marketing director David Cohon by providing a blend of ingredients in both Velvesil Mul-T gel and Silsoft E-Pearl PF emulsion, the company offers formulators multiple benefits for a line of applications.

"We know it is resource-intensive and costly for our customers to introduce new ingredients into their stable of raw materials but equally important to satisfy consumers’ desires and needs. Our new products can help achieve both," said Cohon.

Velvesil Mul-T gel is a material combining the translucent soft-focus ability of boron nitride with the powdery, velvety touch of patented Velvesil chemistry.

It is said to deliver a good feel, improve natural-looking coverage, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, owing to its silicone composition.

It could be considered for use in personal care products, such as colour cosmetics, skin care, oil absorption and sun care and anhydrous products, as it can be easily combined with additional ingredients.

Velvesil Mul-T gel also offers benefits like improving and complementing the look and feel of formulations, creating a soft, powdery, fast rub-in sensory experience and hiding and masking skin imperfections due to instant soft focus effects.

Silsoft E-Pearl PF emulsion can help provide the consumer with a better sensory experience, hydrating feel, and line-blurring and skin-brightening benefits. All of its attributes cannot be usually assembled in one formulation.

It is a patented, non-ionic emulsion that incorporates into formulations. It can even be post-added to many existing formulations, as it is easily dispersible in water.

Silsoft E-Pearl PF emulsion could be considered for use in skin care, sun care and colour cosmetics.

This emulsion also provides benefits, such as ease of use, smooth, moisturising silky feel due to silicone content, light diffusion effects; blurring of fine lines and wrinkles and lubricity and spreadability.
