Lancôme, Corno partner to launch limited edition makeup collection

French cosmetics brand Lancôme has partnered with Canadian female painter Corno to launch exclusive limited edition makeup collection for summer 2012.

The new makeup collection will feature two lipsticks in neutral beige and punchy pink hues, two blushes in vibrant pink and tangerine hues, one eye shadow palette in golden hues, pink color nail polish and a makeup brush.

For the makeup launch, Corno has teamed up with Lancôme’s official makeup artist Lora Spiga to select products and colours for creating a collection, the brand said.

Lancôme claims that the new collection would be colourful and playful along with being complementary to the season’s mood and trends.

Lancôme official makeup artist Lora Spiga said that she and Corno wanted to integrate the same kind of vibrancy in the collection as in Corno’s paintings to create beauty looks that would translate well into everyday life.

"Like in Corno’s paintings, there are levels of intensity in the colours we selected," added Spiga.

According to the brand, the artistic expression at the heart of this collaboration resides in the creation of a painting designed specifically by Corno for Lancôme.

The resulting portrait represents a woman who is claimed to be seductive and playful, and this unique artwork also is featured on the collection packaging along with Corno’s signature.

The new limited edition makeup collection will be available from mid-May 2012 at selected Lancôme counters in Canada.

Lancôme also previously had partnered with Canadian artists such as photographer Raphael Mazzucco in 2010 and fashion designer Denis Gagnon in 2011 to create makeup collections.
