IFF opens new manufacturing facility in Singapore

International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), a US-based flavors and fragrances manufacturer, has opened a new liquid flavors and fragrances manufacturing plant in Jurong, Singapore.

The firm said the new facility, which has been constructed under its $100m investment in Greater Asia, occupies 12,000m² space, replacing the company’s existing plant in the same location.

IFF chairman and chief executive officer Doug Tough said the company’s continued investment in the Greater Asia region reflects its confidence in the future growth opportunities in the Asian market for both for the customers and the company.

"We are committed to providing our customers with world-class support – the finest flavors and fragrances created under the most demanding quality standards to better serve our Asian customers. We are honored to further build on our over 40 year history in Singapore as an active supporter of its economy," Tough added.

According to the company, the new plant will have production capacity of up to 20,000mt over time, allowing the company to maximise productivity and efficiency while maintaining product quality.

The firm said new plant was built with automated processes, which minimises usage of water, energy and cleaning chemicals.

IFF said, in addition to the manufacturing liquid flavors and fragrances for the Greater Asia region generally, the plant will also support it’s Center of Excellence for Functional Fragrances, which is housed in IFF’s nearby Science Park creative facility.
