German Feminine Care Market records rise in sales

German Feminine Care market is one of the fastest growing, with the market value by category rising close to 75%, says a report by Canadean Cosmetics & Toiletries.

According to the report, "The German Feminine Care Market: What Consumers Use and Why?" the overall unit value of feminine care products was estimated at 6393.4 million units in 2012.

Sanitary Pads clocked most sales at 32% followed by Pantiliners & Shields at 25%, Tampons at 21%, Women’s Disposable Razors & Blades at 14%, and Internal Cleansers at 8%.

Older Consumers (aged 55+) were the biggest buyer group of Internal Cleansers (46.2%) and Pantiliners & Shields (43.1%) while Mid-Lifers (aged 45-54) and Pre-Mid-Lifers (aged 35-44) led Sanitary Pads category at 29.4% and 26.4% respectively.

Older Young Adults (aged 25-34) clocked maximum sales for Tampons at 28.1% while Older Consumers were again on top for Women’s Disposable Razors & Blades at 37.1%.

Hypermarkets and supermarkets dominate the distribution channel for the feminine care market in Germany, says the report.
