Essel Group forays into UAE beauty care market

Chandra, a beauty, skin and personal care products brand of Indian business conglomerate Essel Group, has forayed into the UAE market.

The company has teamed up with the Dubai-based Al Kamali Group of companies to market and distribute Chandra products across the UAE and the entire Gulf region.

Chandra offers a range of products made from herbal, natural and free of toxic and harmful chemicals, reported ameinfo.com.

According to the company, the entry of Chandra was part of its major plan to introduce its comprehensive wellness products across the Middle East market in phases.

The firm said the concepts will also include unique beauty care and anti-ageing products, a natural health and wellness network, television channel, and introduction of Veria brand of Ayurvedic cosmetics and supplements, which are currently offered to the US consumers.

The UAE is the second global market for Essel after the US where Chandra was launched recently, the company said.

Essel Group said the brand will initially be marketed into the UAE through B2B channel network using product packs, which would be supplied to beauty parlours and will later enter the B2C segment with a range of retail products.

Essel Group executive president Nauman said the company’s wellness philosophy behind Chandra brand rests on the ancient practices of Ayurveda, the traditional and native Indian alternative medicine system which focuses on living healthy life naturally.

"Chandra’s entry into the regional market comes in the backdrop of an increased awareness among the local population on natural and healthy lifestyle and a rise in the demand for toxic chemical-free natural and herbal beauty products," Nauman added.
