Elizabeth Arden revenues rise by 4.6% in Q4 2012

Beauty products manufacturer Elizabeth Arden has reported a 4.6% increase in revenues of $265.53m for the fourth quarter ended 30 June 2012, up from $253.75m during the same quarter in 2011.

The company’s profit slipped to $3.63m for the current quarter as against $5.4m in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Elizabeth Arden posted adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) of $17.61m, compared to $16.95m in the second quarter of 2011.

Elizabeth Arden chairman, president and chief executive officer Scott Beattie said the firm’s consistent improvement in its operations continues to be driven by the building blocks of its Global Efficiency Re-engineering initiative that created an efficient and scalable global operational platform.

"As we look ahead, our priorities are focused on accelerating the global growth of the Elizabeth Arden brand, expanding sales of our fragrance portfolio, particularly in Europe, integrating and growing our newly acquired fragrance brands, and continuing to drive operational efficiencies. These are the key initiatives driving our margins, earnings and return on invested capital over the next several years," said Beattie.

Net sales for the firm’s international segment increased by 9.8%, or 9.4% at constant rates, over the prior fiscal year’s quarter.

The company’s North American segment net sales posted a 2.9%growth.

The firm’s celebrity fragrance brands include Britney Spears, Elizabeth Taylor, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and Usher.
