Dow Corning’s new emulsion to provide moisturising & colour protection to hair

Dow Corning announced the release of a new emulsion to provide moisturising and colour protection to hair.

Dow Corning CE-8411 Smooth Plus Emulsion, which is based on advanced silicone technology, provides moisturisation benefits to premium shampoos and rinse-off hair conditioners.

According to Dow Corning’s global technology leader for hair care Beth Johnson, it is difficult to maintain healthy-looking hair combined with chemical and heat treatments, and a fashion-forward attitude.

" The new silicone emulsion has a distinctive moisturizing effect, so when consumers run their fingers through their hair, they’ll experience a smooth, silky, almost gliding sensation," said Johnson.

Over half of all new hair-care products today come with silicone, as it offers sensory and functional benefits, said the company.
Silicones have gained recognition in shampoos, conditioners and styling products for offering smoothness, strength, flexibility to hair, besides shine, heat protection and colour retention, according to the company.

Silicone emulsion’s ability to anchor itself to hair strands provides hair with moisturising effect.

It also can be used for developing moisturising conditioners for a wide range of hair types.

Dow Corning, a company owned by The Dow Chemical Company and Corning, provides solutions in silicones, silicon-based technology via its Dow Corning and XIAMETER brands.
