Cosmetic dentist from Texas introduces new dental implant procedure

Texas-based cosmetic dentist Dr. Charles Sizemore has ushered in a new dental implant procedure, which would give them a better and a permanent option for broken or missing teeth.

Earlier, patients with missing teeth owing to decay, wear, or injury had to depend on dentures or bridges to replace tooth structure.

These dental implants, however, promise to offer a more permanent solution.

Dentures can break and shift, causing pain and irritation to the patients, though they have been a solution earlier for one or multiple missing teeth.

Also, certain foods cannot be consumed with removable dentures at the risk of breaking them, presenting long-term dietary issues.

But dental implants are claimed to be permanent and enduring, and function as well as, if not better, than natural teeth.
These also allow a dental implant patient to eat whatever s/he wishes, and dental implants are also not prone to decay and cavities.

Initially Dr. Sizemore assesses the patient’s mouth and bone structure surrounding the area that does not have natural tooth structure in order to place permanent dental implants.

The doctor then, during a series of appointments, places small titanium studs in the jawbone of the patient to perform as the root of the tooth.

After the titanium stud takes its time to heal and fuse with the jawbone, a porcelain tooth is then attached to the stud that is in consonance with the size, shape and colour of the other teeth in the patient’s mouth.
