Clinical study supports Tria Hair Removal Laser treatment at home

US-based laser and skincare products manufacturer, Tria Beauty, has revealed the contents of a publication of a peer-reviewed clinical study that support its at-home hair removing device, Tria Hair Removal Laser over its competition, no! no! Hair.

The study was published in the July issue of Lasers in Surgery and Medicine. The publication had the details of a clinical study led by laser-expert Dr. Brian Biesman.

Dr. Brian Biesman studied the effectiveness of the hot-wire hair removing device, no!no! Hair by Photomedex.
The study was presented in April at the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) Annual Conference.

During the study, Dr. Biesman focused on the effectiveness of the hot-wire device and found that the device produces short-term surface hair removal which can be compared to shaving.

In addition, the device also could not induce long-term reduction in hair counts. It also could neither slow down the hair growth nor delay it.

It also didn’t alter the thickness or colour of hair that re-grew.

On the other hand, a previously conducted study by dermatologist and ex-president of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Ronald G. Wheeland, showed Tria Hair Removal Laser can reduce hair re-growth on long-term usage.

Tria Beauty’s hair removing device is the only US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved laser hair removal device that can be used at home.

Tria Beauty CEO Kevin Appelbaum said the company is unaware of any such study that has been conducted to demonstrate the long-term hair removal efficacy for any other product available to consumers for use at home.

"Dr. Wheeland’s study is groundbreaking in the clinical substantiation it provides for Tria’s Hair Removal Laser," Appelbaum added.
