UK-based Duolab introduces new facecare system

Duolab, an innovative start-up in the L’Occitane Group, has launched its personalised, preservative-free skincare solution.

The Duolab system offers on-demand personalisation of the freshly blended, preservative-free skincare solution by incorporating an app and AI-driven counter-top device to address the changing needs of an individual’s skin.

The patented innovation also includes three moisturising bases and five targeted concentrates and a skin diagnostic tool.

The tool evaluates the customer’s skin requirements and generates a personalised care programme.

The programme recommends different combinations of capsules based on three moisturising bases and five active concentrates.

A patented emulsification process delivers provides a freshly blended monodose in 90 seconds.

Duolab’s thermo-cosmetic technology warms the cream to the skin’s natural temperature, thereby boosting its penetration and efficacy.

Customers can purchase the capsules on the go or have a set delivered to their door monthly through a subscription.

In a statement, L’Occitane Group stated: “The Duolab formulas, which are scientifically proven and have been tested on over 1,300 women, contain powerful active botanicals.

“The formulas are completely free from preservatives and as such are microbiome-friendly.

“They are preserved in sterile, airtight capsules and therefore maintain their absolute safety and purity for at least three years. Furthermore, the formulas are free from silicone, mineral oil derivatives, synthetic fragrances and colorants.”

Duolab has entered into a partnership with TerraCycle to ensure that used capsules are disposed of correctly.

Under the partnership, customers can earn loyalty points by simply sending their empties back to Duolab in the prepaid envelope provided with every purchase. They can also drop the empties at any L’Occitane boutique in the UK.

Duolab is available online at www.duolab.com in addition to certain L’OCCITANE boutiques in the UK and Ireland.

The product will also be available in Asia before the end of 2020.
