Perfect365 study finds 63% consumers would avoid in-store lipstick testers

US virtual makeup try-on platform Perfect365 has released results of its consumer-focused study on the concerns regarding cleanliness and hygiene of makeup testers.

The results showed that 63% of makeup consumers reported that they would not use an in-store lipstick tester fearing contamination.

The participants also revealed that a digital platform is a preferred option to test makeup.

The study was conducted following recent news about the cleanliness of store makeup samples, which are said to often have high levels of germs and harbour viral infections.

Perfect365’s augmented reality platform helps users to digitally try products and make purchase decisions without any physical contact with applicators.
