World’s first eco-friendly, smart deodorant invented by Princeton grads

ClickStick, the world’s first eco-friendly, smart deodorant stick has earned over 80% of its fund target and over 1000 supporters, with just 14 more days left for its Kickstarter campaign.

Invented by Gilad Arwatz and Carla Bahri, grad students from Princeton University, the ClickStick is a revolutionary way into personal care by reducing plastic waste in the form of the world’s first eco-friendly refillable deodorant applicator.

Deodorant plastic waste in the US alone is over 53,000 tonnes — equal to 145 jumbo jets. The Deodorant Save Club, introduced by ClickStick, helps users save plastic waste amounting to nearly 90%. Users can also get door delivery for $2 refills by ordering on the ClickStick mobile app or website, on the lines of the Dollar Shave Club.

The smart deodorant’s mobile app is easy to use and the users can set their own preferences.

ClickStick has a precision button which releases a particular volume at every push, restricting skin irritation and decreasing exposure to aluminium. An active element used in antiperspirants, excessive exposure to aluminium has been proved to be harmful.

ClickStick’s early pricing begins at only $19, and can be pre-ordered through Kickstarter for another two weeks. A premium Chrome limited edition is also available, if one fancies upgrading one’s personal care experience.
