Valmont selects Thinfilm’s NFC technology for cosmetics packaging

Swiss brand Valmont Cosmetics has selected smart-packaging solutions provider Thin Film Electronics’ SpeedTap NFC technology to provide customised beauty advice for its customers.

Thin Film Electronics has partnered with CMSmartconnect to integrate its SpeedTap tags into the packaging of Valmont’s anti-ageing product range.

Valmont Cosmetics CEO Sophie Guillon said: “We chose Thinfilm’s SpeedTap tags because of their unique ability to facilitate one-to-one conversations with our customers and to extend those relationships beyond the spa and retail environments.

“Making our cosmetics packaging interactive gives us a way to ensure proper use, drive re-orders, and build closer ties with our loyal customers.”

Each package will include a ‘tap here to discover more’ instruction. The customers use their smartphones to access a customised landing page that has information on the brand, ingredients, application instructions, complimentary products, and online purchase.

With a unique ID, the SpeedTap tags are fully incorporated into Thinfilm’s cloud-based software platform CNECT. This software will allow the brand to manage marketing campaigns, monitor real-time activity, and generate detailed analytics and reporting.

Valmont formulates its anti-ageing products based on new cellular cosmetic research findings and natural resources to deliver visible and long-term efficacy.
