Unilever unveils anti-marks antiperspirant technology

Unilever has unveiled a new antiperspirant technology designed to prevent white marks on dark clothing and yellow stains on white clothing.

The new technology is available as a dry spray formulation across Degree Men, Degree Women, Dove, Dove Men+Care, and Axe brands. In addition to the new protection, the products are also claimed to offer anti-odour and wetness capabilities for 48 hours.

Yellow discoloration under the arms occurs due to skin oil, sweat, active ingredients, and laundering.

Unilever's deodorants and men's grooming senior director Matthew McCarthy said: "As the global deodorants and antiperspirants leader, we're constantly talking with consumers about their personal care needs and know that yellow stains and white marks on clothes are among the top unmet category needs.

"People are tired of unintentionally ruining their favorite white t-shirts or leaving behind embarrassing marks in the dressing room.

"We're proud and excited to deliver this innovation to the marketplace and provide a real solution for shoppers."

The new formula comes in 24 variants and will be available for purchase at food, drug, and mass retailers from early December.

In 2017, the firm intends to market the new formulation of brands through national advertising, in-store marketing, public relations, and social media programming.
