Tula secures growth capital investment from L Catterton

US-based skincare brand Tula has secured growth capital investment from consumer-focused private equity firm L Catterton.

To be used to drive Tula's growth by funding marketing, working capital, and product development, the investment's transaction terms have not been divulged.

Founded in 2014 by Dr Roshini Raj, Dan Reich, and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics' co-founder Ken Landis, Tula's skincare approach uses probiotics to improve the skin's appearance and health. This probiotic technology is designed to restore and maintain balance.

Tula's chief executive officer (CEO) Julia Straus said: "With the support of L Catterton, we are excited to reach even more consumers through QVC's multi-platform retail model, our own direct channel, and unique partnerships with retailers like SpaceNK.
 

"L Catterton brings deep knowledge of the consumer space and an unparalleled track record helping boutique beauty brands thrive and grow. We are confident they will be an excellent long term partner for Tula."

Initially launched with QVC, the firm has further expanded its presence online through partnerships with digital influencers. Its products have been selectively launched in stores across the US with SpaceNK.

The probiotic technology allows the topical application of probiotics to safeguard the skin from damaging environmental conditions and against age-related changes.

L Catterton has also invested in various beauty brands such as Bliss, Cover FX, Frederic Fekkai, StriVectin, CLIO Professional, Dr Wu, Kopari, Ideal Image, and Intercos Group.
