Tauriga and Ice + Jam to reformulate Cupuacu Lip Balm texture

Tauriga Sciences and its licensor Ice + Jam are reformulating the Cupuacu Butter Lip Balm in collaboration with cosmetics research and development (R&D) firm Ariel Laboratories.

The company intends to improve the texture and viscosity of the lip treatment product, which is sold under the brand name HerMan.

New label designs and graphics have also been incorporated into the product’s packaging.

Final product samples are expected to be available within six to eight weeks for retailer and customer feedback.

An initial inventory base of 10,000-15,000 product units are estimated to be completed for the commercial launch.

Tauriga Sciences CEO Seth Shaw said: "The company is most concerned with creating a final product of outstanding quality that potential customers can enjoy. 

“Both Tauriga and Ice + Jam are working diligently towards the goals of both a timely and successful commercial product launch planned for mid-late autumn (September-December) 2017.”

The reformulated product will retain the original main ingredient Theobroma grandiflorium (cupuacu butter), which prevents it drying in the package.

Cupuacu Butter is said to be a skin hydrator, moisturiser, and sun protector with the ability to absorb the sun’s ultraviolet A (UVA) / ultraviolet B (UVB) rays.
