Syneron Candela launches new device for skin tightening

Global aesthetic products developer Syneron Candela has launched new device Profound, which incorporates skin tightening technology.

Designed at Contour Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery Centre in the US, Profound is a radio-frequency (RF) and micro-needling system claimed to deliver significant rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction.

The device is said to be suitable for contouring of the cheeks, jawline, and neck areas, targeting cellulite and crepey skin.

Dermatologist at the Contour Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery Centre Dr Timothy Jochen said: "Profound works. It's a powerful tool that combines two effective technologies for even greater performance for a noticeable improvement in wrinkle reduction and skin laxity."

Profound is designed to control the temperature of the skin when RF energy is applied. Temperature maintenance is intended to create optimum conditions for neogenesis and collagenesis.

Microneedling is expected to stimulate the production of new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid in the skin by creating controlled punctures with multiple tiny needles and triggering an immune response.

During clinical studies, Profound was found to result in 100% response rate for wrinkles and 95% for skin laxity through a single treatment that lasts for 45-90 minutes.
