Symrise adds new product managers to cosmetic ingredients team

Symrise has appointed senior product managers Yohanna Sander and Susan Pungitore to the product production category of its cosmetic ingredients team.

The firm's cosmetic ingredients division aims to fulfill consumer demands for safer products, new trends, and regulatory requirements. Its micro protection category vice-president Dr Ravi Pillai said: “With their extensive experience and comprehensive industry knowledge, Yohanna Sander and Susan Pungitore have the right skills to provide our customers the most appropriate systems to preserve their formulations.

“These appointments are a sign of our commitment to maintain Symrise’s position as the leading supplier of modern product protection solutions that meets the needs of today’s consumers.”

With ten years of experience in the cosmetics industry, Yohanna Sander previously worked as global product manager for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical ingredients company Seppic, as well as in sales for the cosmetics retailer Sephora.

At Seppic, Sander managed multiple portfolios such as anti-ageing ingredients, functional active ingredients, and hygiene products.

Susan Pungitore has 13 years of experience in the cosmetics and skincare industry. She managed the marketing and product development of skin and disinfectant products at the wet-wipe manufacturer Nice-Pak.

Prior to Nice-Pak, she worked with chemical company ISP and cosmetics manufacturer Avon, where she coordinated microbiological tests across a wide range of cosmetic and personal care formulations.

Ingredients such as preservatives contribute to product protection by preventing microbial growth in the cosmetic formulations, in turn protecting users from any ill-effects, Symrise stated.
