South Africa’s AEEI purchases Orleans Cosmetics

African Equity Empowerment Investments (AEEI) has expanded its health and beauty division with the purchase of a majority stake in distribution firm Orleans Cosmetics.

Orleans Cosmetics imports and distributes a variety of brands such as Gatineau, NUXE, RVB SKINLAB / diego dalla palma professional, and Sothys through spas and beauty salons, including Truworths and Woolworths.

The acquisition is intended to complement AEEI’s organic and acquisitive growth by adding multiple cosmetic brands to its portfolio.

AEEI CEO Khalid Abdull said: “Orleans Cosmetics was acquired to expand our health and beauty division, which is right on track in terms of organic and acquisitive growth, as well as in line with AEEI’s Vision 2020 Vision strategy.”

The deal is expected to support Orleans Cosmetics' plans to expand its business in the premium cosmetics markets over the coming three to four years.

Orleans Cosmetics CEO Don Kourie said: “With the support of AEEI and its track record for growing profitable businesses, it is envisaged that the company’s brands will grow quickly and significantly by building on a number of robust strategies which AEEI is already implementing.”

In addition to cosmetic products, Orleans Cosmetics delivers beauty services through consultants and therapists, who are trained on skills development and product information.
