Shiseido Americas launches bareMinerals MADE-2-FIT beauty app

Shiseido’s US subsidiary has launched a new foundation customisation iPhone app for its bareMinerals brand.

The new bareMinerals MADE-2-FIT beauty app leverages Customised by MATCHCo technology to create personalised makeup blends.

Shiseido's global Make-up Centre of Excellence president Jill Scalamandre said: "Since its founding in 1976, bareMinerals has always put customisation for its consumers first, investigating and advocating for new technologies to serve them.

"Known for creating innovative formulas with pure, nourishing ingredients, the company has been connecting with its customers in meaningful, forward-thinking ways for more than 40 years."

The app's voice-controlled virtual makeup artist uses the iPhone's camera and processing abilities to analyse the user's skin tone. Shiseido then presents a range of tailored bareMinerals MADE-2-FIT Fresh Faced Foundation products, guiding the user through a series of colour-matching steps.

Founded in 2013 by Andy Howell and Dave Gross, MATCHCo designs customisation technology. The start-up was acquired by Shiseido Americas in January this year.
