Sato acquires Brazilian cosmetics labeler Prakolar

Japanese auto-ID supplier Sato has acquired Brazil-based cosmetics labeler Prakolar Rótulos Autoadesivos.

With the acquisition, Sato intends to expand the market penetration of its South American group firms in Brazil and Argentina, in order to fortify its primary labels business and distribution network.

Based in Sao Paulo , Prakolar uses its labeling sales and manufacturing expertise to serve global, regional and local brands..

The companyhas clients in several industries, including cosmetics, pharma, chemicals and beverages.

Prakolar CEO Alexandre Chatziefstratiouwill stay on in that role under Sato’s ownership.

Prakolar has an industrial complex of more than 5,000m2, which has a series of modern machines to serve various orders from small to large print runs.

Sato Holdings president and CEO Kaz Matsuyama said: "This acquisition not only strengthens our primary label business presence in Latin America, but also our labels capability across the entire SATO Group.

"This acquisition is perfectly aligned with our mid-term goal of strengthening base business and developing emerging markets to expand our global presence."

Sato intends to pursue its globalisation and customer value maximization as long term core strategies in order to ensure sustainable growth for 2015-17 fiscal years.
