Revlon to expand retail presence in India

Colour cosmetics and personal care brand Revlon’s India unit is set to expand its retail presence with the opening of around 100 new stores.

Revlon India intends to open these stores by the end of next year and is expecting 20% of its total revenue from this channel, reported The Economic Times.

The firm has 20 exclusive brand outlets (EBO) and intends to increase this number. It is currently opening five new stores in India at the Xperia Mall in Pallava, Dombivali in Mumbai, Junction Mall in Durgapur, Mani Square Mall in Kolkata, and City Square Mall in Ajmer, reported Indiaretailing.com.

Revlon’s India sales and marketing director Rajiv Kumar Bobal was quoted by Indiaretailing.com as saying: “With the festive season around the corner, we are not only opening more doors for our valued consumers, but also pampering them with makeovers at our outlets, and guiding them to buy the product, best suited for them.

“Our focus for these upcoming festivities is America’s No.1 long wear range – ColourStay.”

Revlon offers various cosmetics products such as foundations, powders for cheeks and eyes, as well as hair dyes, haircare products, body sprays, fragrances, and other beauty products.

Currently, 25-30% of the firm’s stores are company owned and there are presently 27 outlets. Current plans are to expand to 30-35 stores by the end of this year.
