Proactiv launches new acne system for skincare

Skincare firm Proactiv has launched the new ProactivMD acne-fighting system, which featues US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved retinoid adapalene gel 0.1%.

Adapalene is said to act at the cellular level to clear acne, prevent the formation of future breakouts, and restore the tone and texture of skin, as well as unblock clogged pores and minimise redness and inflammation caused by acne.

Together with the firm’s combination therapy, adapalene is an all-in-one cleansing, toning, hydration, and sun protection system.

Proactiv's brand and product management executive vice-president Kimber Maderazzo said: “There has not been an ingredient breakthrough of this magnitude in the over-the-counter treatment of acne in quite some time.

“ProactivMD combines prescription-grade adapalene with Proactiv's combination therapy approach to give consumers an effective skin-clearing system.”

Comprising exfoliating beads, the ProactivMD Deep Cleansing Face Wash clears dirt and debris from pores resulting in a smooth and soft complexion.

The alcohol-free Cleansing Balancing Toner with light astringent is designed to balance pH levels, eliminate impurities from pores, removes dirt, makeup and oil from the skin.
