P&G commits to fragrance ingredients transparency

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has committed to provide ingredient transparency across its fragrances portfolio in the US and Canada by sharing details online by the end of 2019.

Designed to allow its customers to make informed choices, the firm will provide information for more than 2,000 products. 

Procter & Gamble chief technology officer Kathy Fish said: “Our goal is to give people information that is clear, reliable, and accessible.

“This is another step in our sustainability journey toward enabling consumers to make informed choices. We want people to feel great about putting our products in their shopping baskets.

“We are providing more information about fragrance ingredients because we believe this will build even greater trust in the quality and safety of all of our products.”

P&G will initially disclose fragrance ingredients used in beauty care and home products, including Herbal Essences, Olay, Tide, and Febreze brands, with plans to include other product categories over time.
