Oriflame Products Poland joins UPM Raflatac’s recycling programme

Cosmetics firm Oriflame Products Poland has enrolled into UPM Raflatac's RafCycle recycling programme.

RafCycle recycles and reuses pressure-sensitive label waste to develop new materials. This partnership supports Oriflame's aim to reduce its landfill waste across its manufacturing facilities.

Oriflame Products Poland's senior supply chain manager Anna Niedzwiecka said: "As part of our overall strategy for the period up to 2020, we've implemented a "zero waste to landfill" programme across all our factories. The method for waste disposal outlined in the RafCycle programme fits in well with this strategy and will bring us closer to our goal."

Oriflame Products Poland is claimed to be the first Oriflame facility to pursue this target. Opened in Warsaw in 1995, it occupies 15,000m². The company now earns the right to use the RafCycle Partner logo in its marketing to grow public awareness on sustainability.

UPM Raflatac's Poland sales manager Katarzyna Zych-Mlynarczyk said: " The key is to find a solution that fits our customer's needs. This is the only way to achieve an optimal result."

Niedzwiecka said: "It's only natural that we would want to meet the environmental expectations of our customers. In addition to the zero waste to landfill programme, we've made the decision to purchase our energy exclusively from renewable sources.

Oriflame Products Poland has also launched a completely natural and organic line of cosmetics named EcoBeauty.

Oriflame has set a target to eliminate waste transportation to landfill in all its factories, in line with the European Union waste management strategy's '5R' approach: remove, reduce, reuse, recycle, and recover.
