BigCommerce deploys ecommerce platform at health and beauty retailers

Ecommerce platform BigCommerce has announced that health and beauty retailers BPI Sports, Design Essentials, and Osmotics Cosmeceuticals have selected and migrated their online stores to BigCommerce Enterprise.

Health and Beauty is a $300bn industry, according to estimates of the US Department of Commerce. It is also one of the fastest-growing ecommerce segments, with online sales rising 17% year-on-year (YoY) in 2016 to $28bn globally.

BigCommerce claims brands using its platform can experience increased site traffic, have higher sales conversion, and increased mobile optimisation compared to other platform providers.

Manufacturer of haircare products for women Design Essentials selected BigCommerce Enterprise due to the platform’s reliability.

Design Essentials' digital marketing director Sholanda Armstrong said: “My family started Design Essentials nearly 30 years ago and have no intention of going away anytime soon. We needed an ecommerce platform that had the capability to grow with us long term.

“With BigCommerce, we were able to develop a site that’s current, easy-to-navigate, and allows the customer to experience our brand in a way previously not possible. What I wasn’t expecting was the immediate lift we had in mobile conversion, we’ve seen a 68% increase since migrating over to BigCommerce in January.”
