Mustela introduces four new skincare ranges for babies

Skincare brand Mustela has introduced a new skincare line for babies called Bébé, which comprises four different product ranges.

Each named after the types of skin they are designed for, the new ranges include normal, dry, eczema-prone, and very sensitive.

The line's formulations are based on physiology research conducted over a period of ten years by researchers from Mustela's parent firm Expanscience Laboratories. The research revealed that skin of children aged between 0 and 2 is fragile, requiring both protection and hydration.

Mustela's USA managing director Stanislas Baudry said: "We have been caring for mum and baby skin since 1950 and our products have always been ahead-of-the-curve with regard to dermatological research and the use of plant-based ingredients.

"We're excited to continue that tradition of innovation with the new Bébé line and be the first brand in the category to launch products formulated specifically for four different skin types."

Designed for safety and efficacy, the new products are formulated using an average of 95% natural ingredients and do not contain parabens, phthalates, and phenoxyethanol.

The brand has included its Avocado perseose as the main ingredient in the products of all the four ranges. Sourced from avocado, the ingredient protects the cellular reserves and maintains moisture levels of the skin.

The additional ingredients of the products vary with the type of skin.

The dry product range includes ceramides and beeswax designed for nourishment, while the eczema-prone range has sunflower oil distillate to help replenish the skin. The sensitive range includes berry extract shizandra for soothing redness and irritation.

Each range consists of an assortment of products addressing hydration, cleansing, and quick clean-ups.
