Mother Dirt’s AO+ Mist gets Made Safe certification

Skincare products developer Mother Dirt has received a 'Made with Safe Ingredients' seal for its live probiotic offering AO+ Mist.

The seal was awarded following screening and evaluation. The certification indicates that the product is free of chemicals that may have harmful effects on human health or the environment. It is said to reflect the firm’s commitment to provide ingredient transparency and consumer safety.

Claimed to be biome-friendly, AO+ Mist is formulated using live ammonia-oxidising bacteria (AOB) to address skin concerns such as sensitivity, blotchiness, roughness, oiliness, dryness, and odour.

Designed to improve skin’s texture and appearance, AO+ Mist is claimed to restore essential bacteria to the skin as an alternative to soaps and deodorants.

Mother Dirt president Jasmina Aganovic said: “As a science-based company, securing the approval of third-party scientists and experts in the field is integral to our development process.

“The Made Safe seal only reinforces our continued efforts to select ingredients that are truly safe and nontoxic for our products."

Made Safe analysed the AO+ Mist to screen for a presence of carcinogens, reproductive toxins, endocrine disruptors, behavioural toxins, flame retardants, heavy metals, pesticides, insecticides, toxic solvents, and volatile organic compounds (VOC).

The product was also checked for bioaccumulation in the body, persistence, and aquatic toxicity.

In addition to AO+ Mist, Mother Dirt's product portfolio includes face and body cleansers, moisturisers, and shampoos.
