More beauty firms adopting cloud technology, says Oracle NetSuite

Oracle NetSuite has reported an increase in the number of beauty manufacturers and retailers adopting cloud-based software technology.

Companies such as US-based haircare products maker Ovation Hair are said to be turning to the cloud to keep up with competitive multinational institutions, including Procter & Gamble, Unilever, L'Oreal, and Estée Lauder.

It is reported that manufactures are conducting direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales through websites and alliances with other digital retailers such as Amazon and QVC.

Oracle NetSuite global retail general manager Branden Jenkins said: "Health and beauty companies are focused on product innovation, brand-building, and customer intimacy.

"They're channelling the time and cost savings they realise with NetSuite into building the business, rather than wasting resources on manual work and outdated on-premise systems."

Currently, Ovation Hair is said to connect with its customers through e-mail marketing and social media, as well as subscriptions and loyalty reward programmes.

NetSuite intends to aid Ovation Hair to focus on marketing, providing a single platform to run the firm’s financials, inventory, manufacturing, and e-commerce website.

The software further serves as a repository for 500,000 contacts and offers lot tracking options for raw ingredients and shipped products.
