Lubrizol merges its skin and dermal care segments

Lubrizol has integrated its skin and dermal care divisions as part of efforts to maximise synergies and facilitate leveraging technology.

The two segments will operate under new name Lubrizol Skin Essentials division, which will seek to expand the company's vision to become a preferred partner in the aesthetic and wellness market.

The new solution is part of an evolution of the "Accelerating your creativity vision" established by Lubrizol Skin Care two years ago. It will focus on supporting creativity, technical and regulatory support, as well as flexibility in supply and delivery.

The firm has previously combined its functional ingredients segment with Lipotec's active ingredients under the name Lubrizol Skin Care. Molecular science, delivery systems, and botanical extracts by Lipotec have been leveraged along with Lubrizol's skincare knowledge for innovative ingredients and formulations.

Lubrizol's polymer technologies have also been used to provide sensory experiences in a variety of cosmetics such as skincare, suncare, and colour-care products.

Last year, the firm opened a new clinical testing laboratory at its facility in Barcelona to support its new vision.

The dermal care division primarily develops skin topical systems and solutions to deliver monographed active ingredients onto and into the skin.

Lubrizol is planning to present five new personal care concepts at in-Cosmetics show, which is held in London from 4 to 6 April.

The solutions Pemulen EZ-4U polymeric emulsifier, Avalure Flex-6 polymer, Carbopol Ultrez 20 polymer, Novethix L-10 polymer, Glucamate VLT thickener, and Carbopol CLEAR polymer will  be launched for skincare, suncare, face colour cosmetics, bath & shower, and haircare formulations.
