L’Oréal partners with CFAO for production in Ivory Coast

French cosmetics and beauty company L’Oréal has inked an agreement with CFAO for the production and distribution of its cosmetic products in Ivory Coast.

As per the agreed terms, CFAO will provide L’Oréal with access to its facility that is suitable for the production of cosmetics and packaging components in Ivory Coast as well as its distribution channels and knowledge of African countries and markets.

L’Oréal will expand and develop its hair care and body care brands in Ivory Coast.

Commenting on the partnership, L’Oréal Africa Middle-East Zone managing director Geoff Skingsley said: "The distribution and production partnership with CFAO is part of a strategic plan for the L’Oréal Group in Ivory Coast and French-speaking West Africa.

"Ivory Coast is a fast-growing market where beauty products have a strong appeal among local consumers. It is crucial for L’Oréal to increase its presence in these expanding markets."

CFAO will exclusively distribute L’Oréal international consumer brands in Ivory Coast.

CFAO Management Board chairman Richard Bielle said: "Our strategy in West Africa is to offer major international brands a manufacturing and distribution tool suited to the markets they wish to tap into.

"This new partnership is fully in line with CFAO’s strategy of encouraging the consumption of innovative, quality products in West Africa."
