L’Oréal collaborates with Hello Tomorrow

L’Oréal has collaborated with Hello Tomorrow, an international, non-profit initiative that aims to promote early stage scientific start-ups.

Under the collaboration, L’Oréal will support Hello Tomorrow Challenge 2016, which is an international competition and now in its third edition.

L’Oréal will work with Hello Tomorrow to evaluate new trends and define the beauty & wellbeing category scope in Hello Tomorrow Challenge 2016.

This initiative covers over a dozen upcoming scientific and technological fields such as 3D printing, artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, nanotechnology and synthetic biology.

It also helps in creating new solutions beyond traditional cosmetic approaches to invent new products that have the ability to change the beauty and wellbeing market.

In addition, along with the Hello Tomorrow community of investors, researchers and entrepreneurs, L’Oréal will invite its international experts to evaluate projects submitted to Hello Tomorrow Challenge 2016.

L’Oréal will also provide its scientific expertise to high-potential start-ups in order to offer support to speed up their product development.

The competition aims to provide new start-ups with financial support, mentoring and visibility.

The winner of the challenge will be announced at Hello Tomorrow’s Global Summit to be held in October this year, while the grand prize winner will be awarded €100,000.

L’Oréal will also present an award of €15,000 to winner of beauty and wellbeing category.

L’Oréal Groups scientific director Jacques Leclaire said: "Startups looking for technological challenges will find avenues in the field of beauty and wellbeing to express their creativity and mastery of big data, biotechs and the microbiome, leading-edge imaging, cognitive sciences or machine learning, etc.

"These solutions, possible way off-field, will change the face of the beauty industry."
