Latest in Beauty acquires SheSaidBeauty

Beauty products online retailer Latest in Beauty has acquired beauty discovery platform SheSaidBeauty for an undisclosed amount.

With this investment, Latest in Beauty bolsters its social discovery functionality and content curation capability.

Latest in Beauty founder & CEO Nort Janssen said: "Latest in Beauty are experiencing amazing growth and we are excited about the future.

"The acquisition of SheSaidBeauty will add to our ability to deliver the customer an amazing experience. This acquisition has allowed us to fast-track our social functionality and content capabilities."

The combined company is said to become the largest active beauty communities in the UK.

Since its launch in 2011, SheSaidBeauty gathered over 55,000 members to connect, curate and tag their blogs, videos and photos with the beauty products featured, thereby becoming the largest aggregated beauty content databases in the UK.

SheSaidBeauty founder Ben Aronsten said: "SheSaidBeauty has had an amazing journey since launching in 2011. Its aim was to support and help grow the opportunity for brands to connect with potential customers, and beauty enthusiasts who create content to be discovered.

The beauty industry in the UK is valued at around £17bn, which is estimated to grow by 16% by next year.
