Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty to launch new hair cosmetics range, brands

India-based salon chain Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty has licensed Jawed Habib brand name to launch hair cosmetic products.

Retail company Urban Life has secured the license for the hair cosmetic range Jawed Habib Hair Yoga products.

Initially, Jawed Habib Hair Yoga range will include a shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, serum and henna.

Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty founder Jawed Habib said that the company is currently in the pre-production process and is expected to launch the products by May this year.

Initially, the company will make Jawed Habib Hair Yoga products available in salons, with plans to launch them in retail outlets, either through marketing offices or strategic tie-ups in the future.

"All Jawed Habib business models have received high consumer traffic, following which we thought of introducing something from our own label into cosmetic products", Habib added.

The company also plans to launch two salon brands this year, a move that will increase its brand number to seven.

With the launch of Jawed Habib Beauty Parlour and Jawed Habib Barber Shop brands, the company is expected to have 5,000 outlets in the next five years.

Habib said: "Our study says there are 5 lakh unorganised salons in the country. Out of which, 3 lakh would be the barber shops and 2 lakh would be beauty parlours. Our research says that they are looking to be associated with a brand, but have no money.

"We are approaching these 5 lakh salons and asking if they are interested in becoming a part of Jawed Habib."

Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty currently operates 480 salons in India
