India’s cosmetics firm Ecotrail receives funding from GVFL

India-based cosmetics firm Ecotrail Personal Care has received funding from venture capital startup GVFL.

Founded in 2012, Ecotrail owns halal cosmetics brand Iba Halal Care, which comprises certified personal and beauty care products.

The firm’s portfolio is said to be free of animal fat-derived substances such as gelatine and alcohol.

Ecotrail Personal Care founder, managing director, and CEO Mauli Teli told media sources: “Today, Iba has a portfolio of 80 plus products across skincare, haircare, fragrances, and colour cosmetics, making it the most complete range in the category.

“The funds raised will be utilised in extending reach across the country and also tapping export opportunities.”

The halal-certified Iba products are claimed to be certified by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). They are available through various online retailers such as Amazon, Nykaa, Snapdeal, and Flipkart.
