Givaudan acquires cosmetic ingredients producer Induchem

Fragrances and flavours company Givaudan has acquired cosmetic ingredients producer Induchem and its subsidiaries for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition is in line with the company’s strategy to grow in the active cosmetic business by the end of 2020.

Induchem employs 65 people across its operations in Volketswil, Switzerland, Toulouse, France and New York, the US.

Based in Switzerland, Induchem develops and manufactures ingredients for cosmetic applications. Its products are based on a wide range of highly functional active ingredients with proven efficacy results, as well as research expertise in fields such as biocatalysis, metagenomics, and biochemical synthesis.

Givaudan Fragrance division president Maurizio Volpi said: "We expect Induchem to become an integral part of the Active Cosmetic Ingredients (ACI) business within the Fragrance Division. We expect to integrate Givaudan ACI and Induchem, hence expanding our portfolio of products and creating a strong R&D and marketing platform to drive future growth in this space.
