Evonik to present new active ingredients at in-cosmetics, London

Evonik is set to present new specialty ingredients at in-cosmetics 2017 to be held in London.

The firm plans to display its new technologies alongside its expanded portfolio following the recent acquisition of cosmetic firms Air Products and Alkion.

Evonik's personal care business line head Tammo Boinowitz said: “We want to present our new, wide-ranging portfolio of active ingredients to our customers in detail.

"Evonik’s active ingredients experts, including former employees of Air Products and Alkion, will therefore be on hand for discussions. There’s no better or quicker way to network our active ingredients expertise to the advantage of customers."

The firm will present tetrapeptide TEGO Pep 4-Comfort, which was developed for application as an active ingredient in skincare products. Designed to minimise redness and itching of the skin, TEGO will be demonstrated using Evonik's Soothing After Shave Balm as an example application.
 

The new hydrophilic rheology modifier ANTIL 500 Pellets, with high thickening performance in aqueous surfactant systems, will also be presented.

The firm will also exhibit an upgraded version of online interactive tool Sensory Kaleidoscope, which was designed to aid customers achieve a desired skin texture.

Sensory Kaleidoscope 2.0 can be utilised to map the effects of various cosmetic formulations based on their sensory properties.

German-based specialty chemicals firm Evonik is active in more than 100 countries and has around 35,000 employees. In the fiscal year ending 2016, Evonik generated sales of around €12.7bn and an operating profit (adjusted EBITDA) of approximately €2.16bn.
