Dove introduces new product range for dry skin

Global beauty brand Dove has launched the new Dove DermaSeries, a full range of cleansers and creams that provide protection for extremely dry, compromised skin.

The skincare collection was developed in partnership with dermatologists and is said to be most effective when used as a two-step daily regimen.

Dove DermaSeries includes ingredients that are claimed to alleviate the symptoms of dry skin conditions and offer a beautiful sensorial experience.

Ingredients of the new products include glycinate, a mild cleanser to cleanse with creamy lather and stearic acid, which is a skin-natural lipid that helps replenish moisture lost during cleansing.

The company claims that the creams are lightweight, non-sticky and non-greasy and also absorb quickly into skin.

According to the company, the women who suffer from the symptoms of extremely dry skin often experience discomfort and self-consciousness and 72% of women in the US say that their dry skin makes them look less beautiful.

The formulation of the Dove DermaSeries creams includes 12-Hydroxystearic Acid (12-HSA), a fatty acid that works twice as well as stearic acid, glycerin and natural emulsifiers to activate PPARs, proteins found in the skin.

Dove DermaSeries skincare collection includes non-irritating cleansers and hydrating creams, which are easy-to-use in two-step daily regimen.

Unilever Research & Development Scientist Beth Pearson said the company has used the most caring ingredients to formulate Dove DermaSeries to ensure the most gentle cleansing and intense moisturisation.

"We developed the proprietary PPAR Activation Complex to create a highly efficacious formula that offers a superior experience through the sensories of the product," Pearson added.
