Deals this week: Univar, Procter & Gamble

Univar has extended its distribution agreement with Hallstar to cover countries including Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, and Benelux.

Univar is a chemical and ingredients distributor, while Hallstar is a specialty chemical solutions provider.

The new agreement will involve Hallstar’s products, including Biochemica natural exotic oils, antioxidants, natural butters, Hallbrite photostabilisers, solubilisers, and mineral ultraviolet (UV) filter systems. It will also cover Solastay photostabilisers, Eurol antioxidants, active ingredients, and Polycrylene photostabilisers.

As a result of the extended agreement, Hallstar will be able to offer a broader portfolio of solutions for beauty and personal care formulations in more geographies.

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has partnered with BASF, Cargill, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) under the develoPPP.de programme by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The collaboration aims to establish a sustainable certified coconut oil supply chain in Southern Mindanao and Southern Leyte regions of the Philippines, as well as Amurang and North Sulawesi in Indonesia.

Crude and refined oil produced by Cargill will be processed by P&G and BASF for ingredients in the personal care, home, nutrition, and health markets as part of the partnership.
