Chanel to roll out latest version of No.5 fragrance

French luxury brand Chanel plans to release the latest version of its No.5 fragrance in September.

Chanel No. 5 L’Eau has been developed by perfumer Olivier Polge, and is claimed to be the fifth version of No.5.

Featuring the May rose, the fragrance’s top notes include mandarin, lemon, neroli, orange and aldehydes. It also includes notes of cedar and white musk that render a classic feminine base.

Polge was quoted by Superyachts.com as saying: "I wanted to tell the story in a different way and with very contemporary aspects.

"No. 5 is a pillar of our identity, and we produce it all year long. So for any fragrance we create, Chanel No.5 is in the back of our mind and part of our sensibility."

The fragrance will come in a crystal square bottle.

The initial fragrance was first introduced in 1921 by Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel, the brand’s founder.
