Beauty brand Glossier raises $24m in Series B funding

US-based beauty brand Glossier has raised $24m in Series B funding for overseas growth to boost retail space, focus on product development across new categories, and technology, reported qz.com.

The brand was launched in 2014 and currently includes 20 products such as Boy Brow and Haloscope. The company employs around 55 people.

Glossier's website features over 1 million interviews monthly along with daily beauty routines shared by customers. It focuses on customer engagement and is currently being represented by eleven women with pages on its webiste.

Through this engagement, the brand shares its referral programmes, promotional codes, and discounts to customers, who can share them in return for store credit at Glossier. The referral programme is still in a testing phase.

Glossier's founder Emily Weiss was quoted by qz.com as saying: “It’s basically the referral programme on steroids.

“It comes back to making everyone an influencer and so we’re building a platform that enables that.”
