M&As this week: Ginza Stefany Cosmetics, Cosmecca Korea

Ginza Stefany Cosmetics has agreed to acquire Avon Products (Avon Japan).

The transaction will be made through a purchase of equity in Avon Japan for CNY‎10.5bn ($96.9m).

Based in Japan, Ginza Stefany Cosmetics is a subsidiary of LG Household & Health Care, while Avon Japan is involved in the production and sale of beauty products.

Cosmecca Korea has agreed to purchase 6.89 million shares of Englewood Lab from David C Chung for KRW57.76bn ($53.72m).

The transaction represents a 34.17% stake in Englewood Lab.

Priced at KRW8,375 ($7.81) a share, the acquisition will be completed by June 2018.

Based in South Korea, Cosmecca Korea is involved in the research, development, production and sale of cosmetics.

Dongfang Modern Agriculture Holding Group has agreed to acquire a 70% stake in Bio Health Pharmaceuticals for A$8m ($13.98m).

Bio Health Pharmaceuticals’ management team will become part of Dongfang Modern Agriculture, which plans to provide a A$5m ($3.88m) investment to Bio Health Pharmaceuticals for processing camellia oil products.

Dongfang Modern Agriculture cultivates and sells agricultural produce, while Bio Health Pharmaceuticals is a producer of medicines and skincare products.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in Australia.

Onward Business Consultants has been appointed as financial adviser to Dongfang Modern Agriculture for the transaction.

Kremoint Pharma Private has acquired a 60% share in Eco-Rich Cosmetic India Private.

Based in India, Kremoint Pharma Private is a pharmaceutical formulations manufacturer and a subsidiary of Bliss GVS Pharma, while Eco-Rich Cosmetic India is involved in the production of cosmetics and over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products.
