L’Oréal plans to launch CeraVe moisturiser brand globally

L’Oréal is planning to launch its moisturiser brand CeraVe globally.

Following a recent successful launch in the US, the company’s decision was made to meet growing demand for the brand’s skincare products, which are claimed to ease the symptoms associated with acne, eczema and rosacea.

As part of the expansion plans, CeraVe will promote its range of moisturisers and cleansers in a series of launches worldwide.

Based on the business model implemented in the US, the skincare brand will begin product distribution through a range of channels, including pharmacies, specialised distributors, major retail chains and online retailers.

CeraVe general manager Penelope Giraud said: “We are working together with dermatologists and paediatricians, and will continue to do that as we develop CeraVe for international markets.”

Developed in 2005, the skincare brand was formulated by dermatologists and includes a portfolio of products to fight against skin ailments such as dryness and irritation.

The formula includes ceramides 1, ceramides 3, and ceramides 6-II, as well as other moisturising ingredients. The products also utilise the brand’s multivesicular emulsion technology (MVE), which is designed to release the ceramides.

CreaVe was acquired by L’Oréal in 2017.
