Glossier raises $52m in Series C funding to enhance customer experience

Beauty brand Glossier has raised $52m Series C funding to enhance shopper experiences.

The latest round of funding was led by existing investors IVP and global venture capital firm Index Ventures and brings Glossier’s total funding to $86m.

Glossier founder and CEO Emily Weiss said: “E-commerce has made buying easier and more efficient, but discovery less fun and meaningful. Our direct-to-consumer model has enabled us to build uniquely powerful relationships with every single one of our customers on a personal level.

“We know that our customers are driven by the excitement of finding a new beauty product that they love, through someone they trust. This breadth of human connection and celebration of personal choice is core to who we are, and something we want to further facilitate and develop through new digital products, and, indeed, across all of our customer touchpoints.”

Last year, Glossier expanded two of its product categories and expanded its business to two new countries.

The brand also opened new offices in London and Montreal following the acquisition of Canadian technology agency Dynamo.

The direct-to-consumer beauty brand’s products can be purchased directly online and at the company’s New York store.

Founded in 2014, the beauty firm produces skincare, makeup, body and fragrance products for the US, Canada and UK markets. It has more than 150 employees across these countries.
