Equity firm MidOcean acquires BH Cosmetics

US-based asset manager MidOcean Partners has acquired BH Cosmetics for an undisclosed sum.

With the acquisition, BH will utilise MidOcean Partners’ operating resources to grow and expand business in current and new markets.

BH’s founders Fred Sadovskiy (CEO), Kirill Trachtenberg (chief strategy officer) and Robert Sefaradi (COO) will retain ownership stakes in the company.

Trachtenberg said: “The partnership with MidOcean will enable us to dedicate additional resources to key areas of our business including innovation and product development, marketing and branding and customer service.”

MidOcean managing director Jonathan Marlow added: “We see numerous opportunities to increase BH’s presence across channels and geographies and look forward to working with Fred, Kirill, Robert and the talented team at BH to drive this growth.”

Founded in Los Angeles in 2009, BH Cosmetics brand offerings target millennial/Generation Z consumers. The firm sells its products through a direct channel and its e-commerce platform.

Kirkland & Ellis acted as legal advisor to MidOcean, while The Sage Group was the financial advisor and Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton were legal advisors for the transaction.
